SEED works with the families of murder victims in Tuskegee and beyond as part of the War On Murder Begins. Our communities deserve to be free of murder, and the one of the goals of our atonement is the healing of the families.

Atonement Week

In commemoration of the Million Man March/Holy Day of Atonement, SEED Inc hosted an “Atonement Week” in Tuskegee, Alabama on October 16, 2022, to further our work to restore the people of this historic city to their natural seat of greatness. We call this movement, “The War On Murder Begins,” or “The WOMB,” and that movement begins by pointing out the wrong in ourselves – the first step of atonement.


Through our ignorance and indifference, we have allowed a culture of death to replace the thriving example of Black excellence established by Tuskegee’s patriarch, Dr. Booker T. Washington.


This is our time to remove our contribution to the problem. we have invited the leaders of all community institutions in Tuskegee to join us as we apologize to the families of Tuskegee’s murder victims for our contribution to the conditions that led to the death of their loved one.

The Grand Unveiling





Nearly every parent that we have connected with has shared with us that moment that they received the unexpected call to come and identify the remains of their loved one. A covering, or veil was pulled back and in that moment, they were forced to say goodbye to one of the most important people in their life. The Grand Unveiling presents an atonement gift to the families on behalf of the community.



Project Life Affirmations



After seeing the effect of the murders of so many young persons in our city, SEED Incorporated began conducting journalism workshops for high school and university students in collaboration with editors and writers from The Final Call Newspaper. Project Life Affirmations not only gives students the ability to respond with a healthy expression to a problem that disproportionately affects them, but it also empowers them by giving them the means to shape the narrative. Journalism students learn interview and writing techniques, and then produce one-page life affirmations for each person murdered in Tuskegee since 2000.

Gold Star Families



Gold Star Families weekly Zoom calls provide comfort and support for those devastated by loss of a loved one to murder. Grief Counseling is offered to each family using highly effective auditing technology. Moms who want to impact young people speak through the Council of Mothers.



Atonement Memorial Garden



This project intersects the SEED Farms School with the War On Murder. The families of murder victims are sought out and invited to plant fruit trees around our Farm School children’s garden space as a part of a citywide atonement for allowing the community to fall into the present condition. This garden space has been developed in the city’s largest public housing project which carries the burden of a third of the total murders from the year 2000-present.
